The Dallas Holocaust Museum concludes its Upstander Speaker series next week at SMU. On October 15, Roméo Dallaire, a retired Canadian senator and lieutenant-general, will talk about his latest book “They Fight Like Soldiers, They Die Like Children: The Global Quest to Eradicate the Use of Child Soldiers.”
Dallaire has devoted his life to humanitarian efforts. In the early 1990s, while serving as Force Commander of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Rwanda (UNAMIR), he witnessed the deaths of more than 800,000 people. Since then, he has advocated for better mental health care for veterans by drawing upon his personal experiences with depression.
Dallaire’s lecture begins at 7:30 p.m. General admission costs $10. Click here to purchase tickets.
